Despite theological differences

There is a gold mine running through the Qur’an – His name is Jesus (Isa).  The Qur’an mentions Jesus almost one hundred times, all with great reverence.

Early in his “career” Muhammad was not building a religion to displace Judaism or Christianity.  He felt an obligation to turn his countrymen away from idolatry and back to the ways of “the people of the book” (Christian and Jews).

Many Muslims consider the Bible to be a holy book, but they are reluctant to read it because they think the Qur’an says that early Christians and Jews changed the original wording.  The Qur’an does not say the Bible has been changed, though it has become commonplace to believe it has been changed anyway.

The Qur’an has verses that describe —

  • The conception and birth of Jesus
  • The character of Jesus
  • The death of Jesus
  • Jesus being exalted
  • The followers of Jesus
  • Jesus as the fulfillment
  • The humanity of Jesus
  • Jesus and judgment day
  • Jesus and His miracles
  • The names of Jesus
  • Jesus as a prophet
  • Jesus’ relationship to God
  • The resurrection of Jesus
  • Jesus and revelations
  • Jesus and servant-hood
  • Jesus being sinless
  • Jesus as the Word

How can we practically live out our faith together, despite irreconcilable theological differences?

About evanlaar1922

Have you ever noticed how many special ways God refers to us, His dear children? He calls us His beloved sons and daughters, the righteous, children of the kingdom, His anointed, royal priesthood, the faithful in Christ, His temple, His friends, and so many other loving names that speaks to who we are in Him. Also in many cases, the names we are given at birth have both biblical and heavenly identities tied into them. Our Heavenly Father who watches over us daily has created the ideal path for each of us to take to travel the journey of life, just as a father will make plans for his own child by putting things in place at a very early age for education, health, graduation, and marriage. God has predestined and equipped each of us to carry out a specific purpose that will create the design He desires to be in place for His kingdom to be effective in the earth.
