It’s all about new beginnings and new life.
“Despite my efforts to tell them about Christ and to offer the gift of a Bible, no one seems interested. Why? What am I doing wrong? Am I not praying enough? Hard lessons begin to be learned, and as the meaning of acceptance with joy and perseverance begins to sink in, all I can do is cling to the promise that the Lord will build my character and my hope. With the realization that I have walked through so little with my master, comes the stark truth that if those with whom I have come to share good news are ever going to see Christ’s light, He is going to have to start by making His lamp-stand ready for service.”
Being pruned and then changed.
“We are persevering with daily witness but finding no response. To make matters worse, the few interested or believing locals are so half-hearted that the result is frustration for themselves and for those longing to nurture them in the faith. Then the Spirit speaks, with all His usual patience and gentleness, and in the midst of struggle and weariness we lift up our heads to listen – “It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”
